TCA Letters to the Editor
Press Release
Title: Thanks for correction

Letter:
Thanks to Patti and other colleagues who have made me aware of the need to better clarify my use of the term full text in reviews. In future I'll make sure to be more precise on the difference between a product having selective full text versus comprehensive full text and what the vendor considers full text. Also, I did not intend readers to take away from my review that they should solely rely on either product for full text access to any particular title crucial to their users, especially major newspapers like the Globe and Mail. I would never advocate eliminating print or microform subscriptions to the Globe and Mail if a library thinks their users, especially future historians, will need comprehensive access to everything in the paper, including advertising and editorials. For those who are searching from off-campus, at least they have a better chance of getting the full text of an article from the Globe and Mail in CPI.Q compared to ProQuest before going to their local or academic library for the paper copy. That was the point I should have made.
